In the aftermath of the demise of WCBS News 88 in New York, a long-time on-air anchor and reporter at the station is picking up the pieces here in Connecticut.
Brigitte Quinn has joined WICC 600AM/WFOX 95.9 FM and will begin hosting an afternoon show from 12p-2p beginning Monday September 30. Quinn lives in Connecticut and has reportedly been looking for an opportunity in the state.
Quinn will be replacing the syndicated Erik Erickson show making WICC/WFOX all local from 5a.m.-6p.m. weekdays. A win for locally produced radio.
If there is a play to be made for former listeners of WCBS in Fairfield County WICC seems to be making it with the addition of Quinn and top of the hour news from CBS.
Brigitte Quinn will not be the first Quinn to command the airwaves at WICC. Tim Quinn retired as news anchor and news director after 36 years back in 2009.
