Some Washington based opinion leaders were declaring ABC’s Martha Raddatz the winner of Saturday night’s Democratic presidential debate.
Politico, the Washington Post and the New Republic credit the network news veteran with knowing as much if not more than the candidates on foreign policy and with blocking their attempts to evade.
One of the sharpest exchanges came when Raddatz pressed Hillary Clinton on the wisdom of a no-fly zone in Syria. No-fly zones are seen as tough, but cheap in political terms and Raddatz questioned Clinton on what good a no-fly zone would do when neither ISIS or Al-Qaeda have airplanes.
When you think about it, that’s not even a tough question it’s a basic one.
