The Record-Journal announced Friday that five New England journalists, including publisher Eliot C. White, will receive Yankee Quill awards this fall for their professional contributions.
The awards are presented annually by the Academy of New England Journalists through the New England Society of Newspaper Editors Foundation and are considered the highest individual honors from fellow journalists in the region.
White, a fourth-generation CEO of the family-owned Record-Journal Publishing Co., will be presented the Yankee Quill award for his “commitment to open government initiatives and to diversity, including internships to aspiring minority newspapermen and women.” His father, the late Carter H. White, was presented the Yankee Quill in 1990.
This year’s awards will be presented on October 10 in Natick, Mass.
