It appears as though the Governor and her administration are nervous that they may be losing the media battlewith Democratic leadership in Hartford. Of note, Jon Lender mentions a few possibilities as to why Governor Rell and her staff believe she may not be getting a fair shake:
•The opinion that the new crop of reporters is so young that sometimes they lack the experience to convey complexities or provide balance, and instead gravitate toward the sensational or simplistic.
•The idea that in this new era of decentralized, nontraditional, instant media, the prevalence of Internet bloggers makes it harder to tell who is a journalist. So it is hard for a press officer to know who he or she is dealing with, when so many individuals show up at events and then post audio, video and print blogs about them.
