    In case you ever wondered…

    The New York Times has an explainer on the definitional difference between a reporter and a correspondent. The Times says the main difference is proximity to HQ.

    Correspondent: Think of a reporter sending dispatches(correspondence) from a far away place.

    In the accompanying photo, David Dunlap looks like a correspondent writing from the land of dappled sunlight, but he’s actually a reporter based in New York.
