Many Connecticut residents are watching closely as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands recover from this month’s hurricanes. The pictures coming out of the region show mass destruction and in some cases complete defoliation. Communication and travel are close to impossible in some spots.
In the middle of the story in the Virgin Islands is former Hartford Courant and Journal Inquirer reporter Suzanne Carlson who now works for the Virgin Islands Daily News. Her reporting chronicles the daily struggle of residents there and she has also been tapped by MSNBC (8:01 of this clip)to provide first hand reports.
