Former ESPN and now Fox Sports commentator Colin Cowherd has made some claims certain to raise eyebrows in Bristol, Hartford, and Connecticut in general.
Cowherd claims part of the challenge facing ESPN is its location in Bristol, where it has been since its founding in 1979. The outspoken talk show host says top talent just does not want to live in Connecticut. From the New York Post:
“What is undoing ESPN and is not spoken about, is no one wants to live in rural Connecticut.”
Cowherd, who left ESPN in 2015 after 12 years to launch his new show with the enemy, dropped the names of a few other high-profile sports personalities who shared his distaste for building a career and a life in Bristol. Names that ESPN allowed to leave — not necessarily that ESPN lost.
