It is indeed a sad Wednesday at the end of December in the world of Connecticut and New York City radio news.
Two legends of WCBS-AM have passed away.
The death of Fran Schneidau of New Canaan was announced by the station on social media. Schneidau retired from WCBS earlier this year after 39 years with the station. Most of that time covering Connecticut.
And Lou Adler, a former news director for WCBS-AM, died in Meriden at the age of 88. Adler also served as the director of the Ed McMahon Mass Communications Center at Quinnipiac University.
