When reporters do the inevitable “D.O.T. preparing for the snowstorm” stories, the department spokesperson will be longtime Connecticut reporter Samaia Hernandez. Samaia recently left Fox61 and is now primary spokesperson at the state Department of Transportation. Josh Morgan has been promoted to Communications Director.
Samaia is a veteran journalist who started in Connecticut at the Meriden Record-Journal and since then has worked at the Courant, NPR, and three TV stations (with a stop along the way as spokesperson for former Governor Malloy).
