In Monday’s New York Times profile on Sen. Chris Dodd, reporter Mark Leibovich remarks that Dodd is no longer covered by any members of the Connecticut press corps:
[Dodd] points out that there have been no Connecticut-based reporters covering the daily doings of the state’s delegation in Washington, compared with a few years ago, when there were several. They have been replaced by a “blizzard” of political bloggers, gossip columnists and cable news partisans. “It gets to a point where no one is really covering what you’re doing,” Mr. Dodd said.
The Atlantic considers this both “remarkable and sad.”
CT Mirror just hired a Washington reporter
Almost sounds like Dodd has a notion that if there were reporters in D.C. covering his good work, then he never would have been hounded into retirement. Quite a stretch.
