After decades of editing and reporting, I’m ending my full-time presence at the New Haven Register and Hearst Connecticut Media on Dec. 31. I’d say the pandemic is a factor but maybe it is just time to switch gears a bit. I’ve enjoyed working with all of you immensely and I plan to continue writing about entertainment, the CT casinos, dining and travel as a freelance writer, blogger, Instagrammer and whatever you call a Twitter wiseacre with 1,380 followers.
The Connecticut media still has an Amarante among its members as Joe’s son Dan is a meteorologist with Fox 61.
