Sinclair Broadcast Group intends to file information with the FCC to explain how it intends to acquire the television stations of Tribune Media and still remain within the boundaries of station ownership rules.
The merger will require the new larger company to shed some properties with over-lapping coverage maps. Tribune Media owns Fox 61 and WCCT in Connecticut. A successful merger could inject Sinclair’s conservative leaning content into the Hartford/New Haven market.
