According to the New York Post, the FCC is just days away from giving final approval to the $6.6 billion deal for the Sinclair Broadcast Group to purchase Tribune Media.
The controversial sale is being closely watched, because Sinclair is viewed as a broadcast owner willing to use its multi-market reach – through local television stations – to push a hard right political agenda.
The story may have implications for the Hartford-New Haven market because Tribune owns Fox 61 and WCCT in Connecticut.
