Reports this morning suggest Sinclair Broadcast Group is close to finalizing a deal to buy the television stations of Tribune Media.
The transaction would grow the size of what is already the largest television station group in the country under an ownership that is known for leaning to the political right when it comes to public affairs programming. Sinclair has been in a bidding war over Tribune with 21st Century Fox.
Tribune Media owns Fox 61 and WCCT in Connecticut.
