According to published reports, Sinclair Broadcast Group is close to an agreement with the U.S. Justice Department that would allow it to proceed with its planned buyout of Tribune Media.
As negotiations continue, the government is asking Sinclair to sell 13 of its stations in over-lapping markets. According to the New York Post, Sinclair is looking to trim that number to 10.
Tribune Media owns Fox 61 and WCCT in Connecticut. The merger could lead to personnel and programming changes at the Connecticut stations if it moves forward as expected.
