Former NBC CT reporter Derek Slap is running for the state House of Representatives in West Hartford.
Slap was recruited by Democratic party leaders after he was passed over for a seat on the West Hartford council. Slap, who works now for the UConn Foundation, worked previously at the capitol as communications aide and later as chief of staff to the Senate Democrats.
