Rumors are spreading that suggest NBC’s Lester Holt may be the next top network anchor to call it quits in the next 12 months. His contract reportedly expires next year and there is speculation he will follow the lead of CBS’s Norah O’Donnell and the Today Show’s Hoda Kotb as the networks seek to end the era of the highly paid network news anchor.
The Holt rumor leads to further speculation about who would replace him. Two possibilities are Tom Llamas and Hallie Jackson(WFSB). Both have filled in for Holt and both are prime time hosts on NBC’s streaming network.
