Amidst the crush of media at Richard Blumenthal’s US Senate announcement was a new face – that of Jacqueline Rabe, who has joined the staff of The Connecticut Mirror, an online newspaper scheduled to go live in the next few weeks. Jacqueline is a Cincinnati native who has been a reporter, online editor and web site developer for The Washington Post Company’s Southern Maryland Newspaper chain. She’s also worked for Congressional Quarterly and the Toledo Free Press.
The Mirror’s site will soon have a splash page with a short video and staff bios.
With all the top-flight talent let go by the Courant, I wonder why they felt the need to go with someone from a small chain in Maryland.
What part of Washington Post, Congressional Quarterly or Toledo Free Press did you not understand? Sounds like someone is slightly jealous that he didn’t get the job. I hope she brings the same caliber of journalism to CT that DC-area publications enjoy.
Read the article again. It’s not the Washington Post. It’s a chain of tiny papers the Washington Post owns, though I can see where you might miss the distinction. As for Toledo, there is a Pulitzer Prize-winning daily there called the Blade. The Toledo Free Press is a weekly.
Way to go Jacki !!
Way to go Jacki
Duby, do you have any idea who the other staff people working at the Mirror are going to be?
The names we’ve heard all belong to former Hartford Courant staffers: editor Mike Regan and reporters Mark Pazniokas and Bob Frahm. – Duby
Go gettem Jacki!
