Our good friend, the gentlelady once from Glastonbury, Gayle King, appears to be very popular these days among those who run television networks. With her contract at CBS about to expire, it is now reported that Jeff Zucker of CNN recently approached her about taking over the 9p.m. hour once occupied by the gentleman from New York Chris Cuomo. We presume the answer was “no,” because it is also reported that King has decided to stay at CBS.
This morning we know who will be taking over the 11th Hour at MSNBC, from which Brian Williams is recently departed: Stephanie Ruhle. Though there has been speculation about Williams’ replacement for months, we don’t remember anyone predicting this move. Ruhle has been a steady – post Morning Joe – anchor in the MSNBC morning line-up and leans heavily on her business reporting background. She’s been with NBC since 2016.
