State Budget Chief Melissa McCaw defends the ideas presented by Gov. Ned Lamont in his Feb. 20 budget message to the Connecticut General Assembly. Among them, his call to make dozens more products and services subject to the state sales tax, and highway tolls.
House Minority Leader Themis Klarides (R) expresses her reservations about the Lamont agenda, including the proposed sales tax changes, highway tolls and regionalization of schools. At the same, she is optimistic that Gov. Lamont’s collaborative approach will lead to a better result.
