Detectives are investigating the placement of what looked like a Molotov cocktail outside the WVIT Channel 30 studio off New Britain Avenue.
Police said they were called to the TV station at 12:55 a.m. and officers found a bottle with a rag sticking out of it, although there was no fuel in the bottle, police Lt. Jeremy Clark. The bottle was left in front of the main entrance to the building, he said.
A bandana was wrapped around the bottle and a note. The message was “nonsensical” and referred to Russian organized crime, Clark said.
Detectives and an arson specialist were called in and detectives are now investigating, Clark said.
Whoa. Someone sending a message to them? Glad nothing became of it.
