University of Connecticut School of Journalism advisor Terese Carol Karmel died this week at the age of 78.
A number of Laurel readers have let us know how important she was as a friend and mentor to many UConn students and other journalists throughout the state.
In addition to her work at UConn, she taught at Eastern Connecticut State University and wrote for the Hartford Courant and the Willimantic Chronicle at different points in her career. She is the author of Hoop Dreams: UConn Huskies Women’s Basketball – 2005.
