Former News 12 Connecticut anchor Kathryn Hauser is reportedly leaving WBZ in Boston where she is a morning anchor.

According to New England One, Hauser’s contract was coming to an end at WBZ and her husband has been offered a job in Connecticut so she decided to move on.

Could she end up on air in Connecticut?

Cable(Vision)

Unknown

A few days after the announcement of plans by Altice Group to buy Cablevision new details are emerging about what the new owners have in mind.

Reportedly Altice plans to aggressively market four sets of services to customers: video, broadband, mobile and land line phone service.

Still no word on how the transaction might effect News 12 operations in Norwalk and the New York City region.

Cablevision Sale

Altice NV is making a bid to buy Cablevision in a deal worth close to $18 billion.

This is the first major move by the European media company into the U.S. market and is reportedly part of a new business strategy. Cablevision was founded in 1973 by Charles Dolan. Now 88 years old, Dolan’s age is thought to be a factor in the family’s decision to sell.

A major asset of Cablevision in the Connecticut/New York region is the string of regional news networks known as News 12. The Connecticut version is based in Norwalk.
