WEST HARTFORD, CT – (September 24, 2014) – NBC Connecticut / WVIT announced today that Heidi Voight will join its weekday morning news team as a morning traffic and general assignment reporter. Voight will be joining Todd Piro, Shirley Chan and Bob Maxon for “NBC Connecticut Today” from 4:30 am – 7:00 am.
Voight is an experienced multimedia journalist who worked at WWLP, the NBC affiliate in Springfield, Massachusetts, where she anchored and produced the 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm weekend news.
“Heidi takes our traffic reporting to another level,” said Matt Piacente, Vice President of News. “She knows our roads, brings a solid news background and engages thousands of commuters every day on social media. We’re excited to have her on our morning team.”
Voight was born and raised in Milford, Connecticut and is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University.
