Multiple reports suggest the $5.4 billion deal offered by Standard General to buy Tegna may be dead. Tegna owns Fox 61 and CW20 in Connecticut. If the deal is off it could hurt employees of those two stations.
The FCC has ordered a further hearing before an administrative law judge to determine the possible effects of the transaction on consumers and job losses. Previous mergers have fizzled following similar orders.
