The Featherweight, the film starring James Madio as Hartford’s Willie Pep is scheduled to premiere next month at the Venice Film Festival.
Filmed partly in Hartford, two years ago, an American release is expected sometime after the Venice premiere. The Featherweight follows Pep in Hartford as he pursues a return to the ring to make the money he needs to get his personal and family life on track. Pep is considered by many one of the best boxers of the 20th century.
