It has been said that Washington, D.C. is Hollywood for ugly people, but once a year The Hill newspaper proves that saying to be wrong when it publishes its 50 Most Beautiful People on Capitol Hill list.
Only one person “self identifying” as being from Connecticut made the list this year: Margaret Brennan, the CBS News State Department correspondent. And there’s an interesting back to story to her selection. When she first began dating her future husband, he made the same list, leading to an “awkward conversation.”
Brennan is from Danbury, Connecticut and we’ve been impressed with her work and her career, because she spent several years covering business at CNBC when her resume clearly indicated she belonged on a diplomatic news mission.
By the way – most people on Capitol Hill don’t dress in the fashion forward outfits seen on the 50 Most list, but many do, because almost everyone on the Hill is auditioning for something else. This may also be the first year that both the President and the First Lady made the list.
