Most readers of The Laurel know Steve Kalb as a radio reporter; he currently works for Connecticut Radio Network, at one time hosted an excellent talk show on WELI-am in New Haven, and surely did many other things in broadcasting that we don’t know about. But we do know he was just voted UConn Student Government “Educator of the Year”. Steve’s other gig is academia – he’s a broadcast journalism instructor at the Storrs campus. In order for Steve to be chosen an inspired student had to take the time to write a minimum of 250 words about why “Mr. Kalb” was worthy of the honor. The jury is the Academic Affairs Committee of the undergraduate student government. So kudos to Steve and it’s good to know that Generation Z or whatever this one is called has a good head on its collective shoulders.
