Andrew J. Pape, a vice president and operations director for the Republican-American and general manager of the Step Saver newspapers, was found dead at his home Wednesday night.Richard Wildman, acting Middlebury police chief, said in a statement Thursday that police were called to the home at approximately 8 p.m. where they found Pape, 46, deceased. No foul play is suspected. As is customary, an untimely death involving a handgun is being investigated by the Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime Squad, the statement said.
