The Retiring Schain

After a full career, which included time at some of Connecticut’s largest newspapers and with some of the state’s largest companies, Dennis Schain is retiring from his current post as spokesman for the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

Schain began as a reporter working for the Bridgeport Post-Telegram, the Hartford Times and the Journal Inquirer before turning to the field of public relations. Before DEEP, he worked briefly in the office of former Governor Jodi Rell on her communications staff.

Although Schain is retiring from his current job, we suspect he is not retiring from the public arena and may find another means to contribute to this earth, this realm, this Connecticut, because as Schain has often said, “he who transplanted still sustains” or, put another way, qui transtulit sustinet.

We should note that, at 65, Schain has firmly secured a reputation as an all around good guy. We wish him well.
