Big changes underway at WNPR.

The station has announced John Dankosky is leaving his position as host of the WNPR signature program Where We Live to become executive editor of the New England News Collaborative.

He is being replaced as host by WNPR reporter Lucy Nalpathanchil. The changes take effect in May.

Nalpathanchil has been with WNPR for ten years and Where We Live happens to also be in its tenth year.

The station says the time and format of the show will stay the same when Nalpathanchil takes over on May 16. It airs weekdays at 9a.m. and again at 7p.m. Dankosky will continue to appear on the show from time to time, both on the weekly political roundtable known as “The Wheelhouse,” and when sharing reporting projects produced by the New England News Collaborative.

We’ve mentioned the news collaborative in the past. It’s a new effort by public radio stations in Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Vermont to share resources on multi-media reporting projects. It is being funded by a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
