Now that Senator Richard Blumenthal has decided to support the nuclear agreement with Iran, former CNBC host and Redding, Connecticut resident Larry Kudlow is in the hot seat.

Kudlow announced two weeks ago that if Blumenthal sided with the president on Iran he would run – as a Republican – against Blumenthal in 2016.

Reached by Hearst Connecticut Tuesday, Kudlow said he wasn’t ready to make an announcement but he’s moving “closer to it.” Kudlow served in the Reagan administration as a budget adviser.

Kudlow is not the only national TV personality living in Connecticut to express an interest in a political career, but he is the only one to go beyond the “it’s something I’d consider someday stage.”
