- The Hartford Courant’s Tom Condon, Deputy Opinion Page Editor, has won the National Headliner Award for editorial writing. Tom won “for editorials on topics ranging from his walk to work in the January 2011 snowstorm to ‘some idiot’ dumping tires in a housing project in Hartford. A winning editorial on a convicted politician’s hopes for a comeback began, ‘Give former Bridgeport Mayor Joseph P. Ganim a lemon and he will open a used car lot.’ ” Congratulations, Tom.
