An apparent dismissal last week at Trinity College in Hartford illustrates the chilling effect White House initiatives to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in the federal government can have outside the government.
A story on the Boston Globe website says Trinity spokesperson Kristen Cole was let go after she made the strong case an administrator from the school should agree to a news interview on the Trinity’s DEI policies. Because she persisted after being told “no,” she was let go, according to the Globe.
Prior to working at Trinity, Cole worked in communications roles at the University of Connecticut, Smith College, and Brown University.
