So this happened: it was Gerry Brooks Night at a recent Yard Goats game. Gerry is retiring at the end of November sweeps (#sayitaintso) and NBC CT wanted to celebrate him. It was a true Gerry-fest, with the longtime anchor throwing out the first pitch and leading the crowd in “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during the 7th inning stretch.
A few days later and a few miles down Route 9, WTNH’s Ann Nyberg received the “Spirit of Katharine Hepburn Award.” The honor was bestowed upon the ageless anchor by the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center at its annual summer gala. Ann has been deeply involved with “The Kate” since its opening in 2009.
