The leading AM stations in Norwalk and Stamford (WNLK/1350 am and WSTC/1400 am) could be partially silenced. Owner Cox Radio is not renewing its lease at the Westport Avenue location in Norwalk where the stations are based, according to The Hour:
The decision leaves open the possibility of Cox Radio moving these stations out of Norwalk, presumably to Stamford, where WSTC is already licensed for broadcast. That would likely force at least a modest change in the morning programming format.
Though a firm decision has not been finalized, Cox Radio is also said to be in talks with WSHU Public Radio Group, a nonprofit organization based in Fairfield that broadcasts NPR news, local reporting, classical music, and cultural programming.
Duby: There was a story in the Norwalk Hour yesterday saying the stations have been sold to Sacred Heart;
