It appears the Gannett/Tronc deal has collapsed, but is it dead?
The plan for Gannett to buy Tronc, owner of the Hartford Courant, was expected to be completed at the end of last week, but it looks as if financing for the acquisition fell apart.
But as Ken Doctor of Politico is reporting, there is still a strong incentive for both companies to come up with a solution.
