Laurie Perez and Jeffrey Collette

Laurie Sue Perez and Jeffrey James Collette were married Saturday at Merriman’s Kapalua, a restaurant in Lahaina, Hawaii, on the island of Maui. Ernest K. Puaa, a Pentecostal minister with the Harvest Chapel Church of God in Lahaina, Hawaii, officiated.

The bride, 41, is keeping her name. She is an anchor and reporter at WTIC-TV in Hartford, where she covers Connecticut politics and the state Capitol. She graduated from Tufts and received a master’s in journalism from Northwestern.

She is a daughter of Rose Flora Perez and Victor Untalan Perez of South Windsor, Conn. Her father, now retired, was an assistant vice president for human resources at Hartford Financial Services in Hartford.

The bridegroom, 43, is a studio producer for the “SportsCenter” and “NFL Primetime” programs on ESPN. He works at the company’s headquarters in Bristol, Conn. He graduated from the University of North Texas.

He is a son of Barbara L. Collette and James L. Collette of Fairview, Tex. His mother retired as a legal assistant from the Addison Law Firm in Dallas. His father, also retired, was a manager in the Dallas office of J. C. Penney, where he did accounting for the store’s catalog division.
