In move meant in part to take advantage of the recent end of WCBS – News 88 in New York, Connoisseur Media has decided to end its rock format on WFOX 95.9 FM in Fairfield County and replace it with a simulcast of WICC 600 AM.
Despite its place on the AM dial, WICC continues to draw a large share of the audience in the Bridgeport region with its mostly local news/talk format. In addition to the overall switch, Connoisseur Media is adding top of the hour news from CBS to its clock. The loss of CBS News on the hour was a major concern voiced by former listeners of WCBS.
