This morning the WFSB Newsroom was notified of the hiring of a new anchor for the station, Mark Zinni. Dennis House has been the only male weekday evening anchor since Al Terzi left.

Mark will co-anchor the 530pm news with Denise D’Ascenzo.  In addition, Mark will report during the day, and introduce folks to some different and interesting topics around Connecticut.

Mark is an Ohio native, but no stranger to New England.   He’s worked in nearby Providence, Salt Lake City and is leaving an anchor position in Cleveland to come here to join our team.   Mark is an Emmy award winner, for coverage of the Station Nightclub fire.  He has won several AP Awards for reporting in both Ohio and New England.  He is very involved in the community with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Care Alliance Health Center, AIDS Care Ocean State, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, the Animal Protective League of Cleveland, the East Bay Coalition for the Homeless in Rhode Island.

Mark’s first day at WFSB is October 1, 2015.
