WFSB – and its sister LPTV station WWAX – have announced a deal to produce and broadcast content featuring University of Connecticut athletics.
The partnership begins with a UConn football season preview on Saturday August 26, at 7 p.m. UConn Football Coach Jim Mora will provide an inside look at the UConn players and schedule for the 2023 season. WFSB will also broadcast the UConn vs. Sacred Heart game on November 18. Plans for other shows, featuring other UConn sports teams are in the works and will be announced soon.
But it’s not all about programming. The partnership between WFSB and UConn will include internships for UConn journalism students and hopefully a pipeline for future WFSB newsroom employees.
