We’re told that the fourth reporter in two months has resigned from the Meriden Record-Journal. Eight-year veteran Dan Champagne, most recently the on-line editor, had his last day on Aug. 27.
Dan won a number of of awards for his series of reports about “Helping Hand for Violet” after he traveled to the Dominican Republic in 2007 with a local volunteer group.
Dan’s departure follows those of George Moore, Andrew Perlot and Samaia Hernandez, who have moved on since June. None of the former reporters had other jobs lined up when they left.
