We’ve been told that the major AM station in Bridgeport, WICC-600 AM has been off the air since Monday night around 9:30 pm. According to our sources, the storm surge generated by Sandy washed away the propane tanks that fuel the generator at its transmission towers at Pleasure Beach. Broadcasters were able to get back on air this morning around 9:30 a.m. when new tanks were put into place.
