Sue Simmons, part of the longest-running anchor team in New York along with Chuck Scarborough, has reportedly been told her contract won’t be renewed. She is 68, as is Scarborough. He is allowed a few more years on air but she is not – why does this not surprise us? Simmons worked at WTNH before moving up to the New York market.
….what a great women and super pro. Any PERSON who is allowed to stay in their job for that long, as well to an age of 68 is very fortunate. She has been payed handsomely for 3 decades and will never have to work ever again…although she might resurface on Ground Hog Day as her now famous imitation will be missed. Ch. 4 kept Chuck on so both wouldn’t disappear at once, a ratings disaster. Both are great pros no doubt. I congratulate Sue on a great career as she was as real as any TV person has ever been. Besides Gerry of course.
