For many years, Darren Kramer (left) was the top guy at WTNH, co-anchoring the 5, 5:30, 6 & 11 news alongside Ann Nyberg. But in December, 2020, WTNH hired Dennis House, who was let go from WFSB (which remains one of the worst Connecticut local news decisions in recent memory). Soon thereafter Dennis was assigned to the 6 pm newscast at channel 8, and now comes the announcement that Dennis will add the 11 pm to his responsibilities.

Given these dark days for our country, we at The Laurel are trying to be as optimistic as we can about … anything. So we truly hope that Darren is happy with a more normal daytime schedule that gets him home for dinner. And congratulations to Dennis for landing on his feet after his surprise firing not so long ago.
